great easy lasagna and tamale pie

So I was given a packet of recipes from a relative's wedding shower and I have been trying them out... so far these two have been amazing and the leftovers went quick (so they must have been good) anyway here they are...

Crock Pot Lasagna
1cup small curd cottage cheese (if you want, add more)
2cups mozzarella cheese grated
1cup Parmesan cheese
3cups of favorite spaghetti sauce (more would work better if not add a little more water)
1 cup water
8 lasagna noodles, uncooked (ready bake works well)

Brown beef, combine all cheeses with beef
mix water and spaghetti sauce
Beginning with the sauce layer in the crock pot
1st sauce 2nd noodles 3rd cheese mixture until you use all
top with cheese mixture
cook 4-5 hours on LOW
makes about 4 good sized servings but can double or triple just make more layers.

*tip- for the noodles just break and fit however you can to make a layer since the crock pot it a weird shape*

Tamale Pie

Topping
2cups milk
1/2 cup cornmeal
1egg
1 1/2 to 2 cups grated cheese

heat milk in sauce pan to almost boiling, add 1/2 cup corn meal and cook until thick (stir while cooking so it won't get lumpy). Beat the egg and add some of the mixture to the egg to warm and make mixing easier. When warm add to the mixture and cook a min more. Add about half the cheese and stir until melted.

Filling
1lb ground beef
1medium onion (or 1T onion powder)
1pk taco seasoning
1 can diced tomatoes (med sized)
1can yellow whole kernel corn
1/4 cup corn meal or grits

Brown the meat (and drain), add onion, and taco seasoning and corn (undrained) and tomatoes (drained), when boiling add corn meal or grits

dump in a square casserole dish and add topping sprinkling the rest of the cheese on top
bake for 30 min at 350

(if you don't have time for the topping just add 1/2 cup of cheese and bake the same time)
makes about 4 to 6 decent sized portions can double in a rectangular baking dish
